What artists should check before signing a gallery agreement
Corporate and intellectual property counsel for founders, families and creative businesses. Paintings and works on paper in oil, ink and watercolour.
About · The portrait
Nadia Laurent is a corporate and intellectual property lawyer with more than twelve years of practice. She advises founders, families and creative businesses on the agreements and decisions that shape them, and is known for clear advice and calm negotiation.
She is also a working artist. Her paintings and works on paper explore balance, restraint and light, ideas she first met across the negotiating table. Her work has been shown in eight exhibitions and is held in private collections.
Both practices ask for the same discipline: read carefully, look closely, and leave out whatever does not serve the whole.
In her words
Law taught me to read what is written. Painting taught me to see what is not.
